MY WRITING

1. Sometimes you have to do things that you don't like

Life is full of challenges. Although we always love doing desirable things, however, sometimes we have to do what they really don’t like to make good life and reach to our dreams. My views on this problem is based on personal, social and financial aspects.

First, basing on personal view, we have to accept to do things that personally we may think they are not useful and don’t contribute so much to our life. For example, most of children have to go to school to study. For many of them study is a hard duty they really don’t like and not be interested in. Nevertheless,  student don’ have so much other choices,  the best way to help them to have a firm future may be the studying way, so they are still patient to go to school regularly to gain new knowledge to build up their dream step by step. Another instance, parents who have their first baby, they have to sacrifice their freedom and spend time to take care the baby. There are times they don’t have enough time to sleep every night and have to wake up early in the morning. They even give up everything at work to go back home instantly when their baby has something wrong and they are also ready to return to work regardless of being exhausted. Through such experiences of life we become more responsible and career oriented.

Secondly, talking about social aspect. Our life is a world of complicated relationship and we are small pieces of this world. To live well in this world we must build up a good relations with other people from members in the family to the other in the society such as friends, colleagues. It is really hard task for us to perform. In fact, we are sometimes not interested in activities such as birthday parities, wedding or funeral ceremonies because we are very busy or don’t like communicate much with others or  attend places with many people. However, participating in such events teaches us to go beyond our selfish gains, share the happiness and sorrows of others. Moreover, when we work in some offices or organizations or someone is supervising on us, we need to be patient. Sometimes, our boss yells at us and we want to react rightly in the same way, at this point, we are helpless and are left with no choice except to absorb it. All of these things lead us to the path of tolerance and forgiveness.

Lastly, about financial aspect, although we don’t want to work at all but more or less speaking we need to do a little because we all need money in our life. It hardly denies that most of us don’t need money to live. To earn the money we must do the thing that we don’t like that is working. Money will not run into our pocket if we are too lazy and just spend time on such meaningless activities. On the other hand, we need to work to earn money in order to keep the local, national and international economy growing. We earn money first to support ourselves, our family in particular and our community in general. In fact most of us do tiresome jobs for more hours than we would like to do happily. What forces (propels) us to earn living is our financial needs, duties and commitments. On this way, we can enjoy a happy life and can save money for our retirement.

All in all, to have a happy and successful life, we need to know to accept to do something that sometimes we really don’t like to do. Accepting and trying to find a right way to overcome obstacles of life will help us be more confident and easily reach our dreams.

Phân biệt Five Years Old và Five - year-old

Five Years Old vs Five-year-old

1. số đếm + year(s) old
2. số đếm - year - old
- Được dùng để nói về tuổi tác hết sức quen thuộc trong tiếng Anh.
Ví dụ:
  • How old are you ? I’m five years old. (Cháu mấy tuổi rồi? Cháu năm tuổi rồi ạ).
  • The house is said to be 100 years old.(Người ta nói rằng ngôi nhà này 100 năm tuổi rồi).
  • It is believed that the missing boy is only three years old.(Người ta tin chắc rằng cậu bé bị mất tích mới chỉ ba tuổi thôi).
  •  The baby is two months old.(Em bé được hai tháng tuổi rồi).
  • My Mom said that I used to cry a lot when I was one year old.(Mẹ bảo hồi một tuổi tôi rất hay khóc nhè)

  • A twelve-year-old boy (một bé trai mười hai tuổi)
  • a twelve-seater mini bus (một chiếc xe buýt nhỏ mười hai chỗ ngồi)
  • two-seater sofa (ghế sofa dành cho hai người/ có hai chỗ ngồi; hay còn gọi là “love seat” trong tiếng Anh Mỹ)
  • a five-dollar note (một tờ năm đô la)
  • a four-wheel drive car (một chiếc xe bốn bánh)
  • Ten-year old Lukas is a brilliant pianist.(Cậu bé Lukas 10 tuổi là một nghệ sĩ piano tài năng)
  • My brother did a three- month motor racing course last year.(Năm ngoái em trai tôi đã tham gia một khoá học đua xe motor ba tháng).
- Hãy chú ý, chỉ danh từ được cụm tính từ này bổ nghĩa mới có thể ở dạng số nhiều.
Ví dụ:
  • three five-kilo bags of rice (ba túi gạo loại 5 cân)
  • two forty-page books (hai cuốn sách 40 trang)
